Boomball

From PHIGHTING! Wiki

Boomball is a map in PHIGHTING!. Boomball has a 1/200 chance of appearing in the map voting screen.[1]

Overview

Boomball was added as a special map for the Ice Cream vs. Popsicle Phestival. Boomball is the only map where the special Boomball mode can be played. During the Phestival, it was in standard map rotation and had an additional 10% chance of replacing the middle map in voting if it wasn’t rolled normally. This feature was removed from the map rotation during the final day of the Phestival. The map was removed from rotation altogether after the Phestival but was still accessible through private servers.

Boomball was temporarily brought back into standard map rotation during the Possessed vs. Bitten Phestival.

Boomball was later put into the map pool two hours after the release of V0.9.5, for two days Boomball would take up one of the slots on every map pool, and would have the same chance of appearing as any other map. After Boomball was removed from the map pool, it was given a 1/200 chance of replacing one of the three maps during the map vote.

Gameplay features

All players are forced to play as Boombox. The objective is to use abilities to hit the ball into the opponent’s goal.

Boombox has the following changes during Boomball:

  • Remixing Blitz's timing mechanic is removed, despite the UI still appearing, making it so every one of Boombox's abilities will always be empowered.
  • During Raining Tacos all moves, no matter how well timed, will add charges.
  • Boombox has constant 50% Haste.
  • Haste from multiple Boomboxes can stack. The maximum bonus Shield recieved from multiple Raining Tacos will not go past 50, however the Shield generation does stack.
  • When a player first spawns, if they were playing as Boombox in the intermission lobby, they will spawn as the skin they were using in the intermission lobby for the whole match, otherwise, they will be forced to use a random skin that they own for the whole match.

When a ball enters a goal, a wall rises in front of the opposing team's goal, and the ball is thrown back to the center, bouncing toward the wall. At One Minute Left, an additional ball spawns in the center of the map.
