}}Shuriken is a ranged Phighter specializing in flanking and picking off enemies on the opposing team with his anti-heal and high DPS output. If left unchecked, Shuriken can allow his team an easier win in a team fight while acting as a good counter to healers pocketing. His total hit points is 125, among the lowest in the game alongside Biograft - he has 75 health with 50 shield. This small HP pool means Shuriken will have to play aggressively in the enemy’s backline to allow his team to pick off the opposing team.
}}Shuriken is unrivaled at capitalizing on people getting distracted. Shuriken's range of mobility tools make him exceptional at positioning at off-angles and slipping out if something goes wrong. From behind, a good Shuriken has exceptional single target damage and has an easier time cleaning up low health enemies or helping to take down the higher health ones with {{Abilitylink|ShurikenPrimary}} and {{Abilitylink|ShurikenSecondary}} to apply antiheal.

Due to Shuriken’s frail nature, it’s highly recommended you learn to choose your fights rather than fighting anyone in your sight. Shuriken’s high mobility and high DPS allow him to properly get behind enemy lines and quickly dispose of backline characters such as Hyperlaser, Medkit, or Vine Staff or finish off low HP targets. Because Shuriken is a Phighter who capitalizes off of eliminating single targets, it’s a good rule of thumb to know which Phighters will be easier to take care of than other Phighters.
However, Shuriken is very frail. While most of his total hp is made up of shields, and he'll usually be taking a few breaks to regenerate the buffs from {{Abilitylink|ShurikenPassive}}, it doesn't change how vulnerable he can be. Keep an eye on your hp, and watch out for enemies who can quickly close the distance.

As stated before, Shuriken is very weak at close range due to being easily caught and decimated by melee characters, and ineffective at long range due to not being able to take advantage of most of Shuriken's abilities. This requires Shuriken to inhabit a middle ground in which they can deal the most damag and also have opportunities to escape if they're in a potentially dangerous situation.

Prioritize targeting:
Shuriken can repeatedly apply antiheal to one person, making them harder to heal, but Shuriken's high damage from behind can make killing healers just as viable a strategy. Granted, if someone is already taking down the support, it's always more helpful to tackle whoever they could heal before they go down.

Shuriken has some survivability while in close range because of his M2 ability and passive which allows Shuriken to chip or eliminate targets before needing to retreat. However, this aggressive playstyle comes at the cost of losing a majority of your HP if caught off-guard by a stronger enemy (Katana, Sword, Slingshot, etc.)

His passive is great for outmaneuvering enemies. The speed and ability to wall-perch are all tools you can use to disorientate and dodge the enemy. Traverse the Horizon is one of the best mobility tools in the game with its large range and requiring 10 damage before being broken. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need a quick escape then this ability is a fast option as it can be canceled mid-way which carries the momentum allowing you to fling yourself to a safe distance. Illusions of the Smoke is a good tool for either chip damage or tricking enemies. Tapping E will send out a clone of yourself, allowing you to either teleport to it and/or use it for extra damage. It copies both your primaries and your jumps, and it explodes for damage and slow if it is broken, dealing damage and inhibiting the opponent should they be in its AOE. On the other hand, holding E will send a clone of the nearest teammate which can confuse the enemy and help a teammate escape easier. Guillotine Blossom is a good crowd-controlling Phinisher allowing Shuriken to chip/finish off groups of enemies quickly.

Ultimately, Shuriken’s hyper-aggressive flanking playstyle makes him a very strong and annoying Phighter to go against when in the right hands.

Shuriken's role of capitalizing on the distractions of your team rely on them being distracting. {{Abilitylink|ShurikenE}} is a great example of this, as the clone is great at directing enemy's sight the opposite direction, lending one less player to a team fight, or an exposed backside for you to shoot. If they choose not to care for the clone, recast with E to teleport right to it and teach them a lesson.

Combining debuffs, high damage, and the power of forcing you to turn away from the main fight to avoid death makes Shuriken an excellent Phighter. While a fight with anyone who's aware of your presence is usually where Shuriken is the least effective, drawing someone away from the fight, even for a few seconds, can be invaluable.
