"THE ULTIMATE STRATEGY" is a track composed by Key After Key. In-game, the track is played as the map theme of Banland.

Description

"THE ULTIMATE STRATEGY" is a breakcore/symphonic metal remix of "The Great Strategy" by Badliz, otherwise known as the "Roblox 2006 Theme." To fit the high-energy Phighting style, a metal guitar and a fast Amen Break are added to the mix, similar to Ultrakill's style of music. This was done due to Banlands' resemblance to depictions of Hell, being dark, fiery, and full of lava. Additionally, similar to "OVERTIME?!", Calamity bells are added throughout the track to elevate the dark, aggressive tone.

As the composer wanted to keep the track fresh the entire way through, original aspects were sprinkled throughout the track. At 1:16, a second guitar begins to shred arpeggios hastily. At 1:55, the track breaks down into a full breakcore beat, with the drum sample crazily shifting through several different Amen Breaks. Then, at the climax, 2:14, the original melody is reharmonized, being played by the lead guitars in an epic, final showdown manner. Finally, at 2:52, the track calms down, using acoustic guitar chords and an altered version of the original melody, as to take a breath before the track eventually loops.

Trivia

• For April Fools' 2024, a variant of "THE ULTIMATE STRATEGY" was temporarily added, named "THE IMPERFECT HATREDY".
  • This variant references the level 6-2: AESTHETICS OF HATE in ULTRAKILL, containing the track The Death of God's Will by Heaven Pierce Her and various voice lines from Gabriel.
• Contrary to popular belief, this track does not use a keytar for the melody. Instead the track layers the Dimrain47 "Inferno" guitar layered on top of a metal guitar preset on FLEX for the lead guitars.
• Because the track is longer than 3 minutes, the track is never fully played in-game.
• This track also took inspiration from an official remastered version of The Great Strategy, also known as The Great Strategy 3B. Aside from the influence of ULTRAKILL, this would be the one of the main inspirations for the more dark, metal direction of the track.
• At the breakcore breakdown (1:55), a total of 5 different Amen Breaks are sampled.
• This track was finished before the Banland map rework was released, being added to the game alongside its release.
