Hitpoints
Hitpoints are a statistic used by all Phighters in PHIGHTING!. Hitpoints measures a Phighter's durability, how much damage they need to take before dying. Hitpoints comes in two forms: Health and Shields.
Health
A statistic (indicated in green) used by all Phighters. Any damage done to a Phighter's health bar cannot be restored without a healing ability. If a Phighter's health reaches 0, they die.
Non-Phighter entities, such as Vine Staff's plants, or Venomshank's zombies cannot be healed.
Shields
A statistic (indicated in blue) present in certain Phighters and abilities. Shields can be removed after taking sufficient damage. Unlike health, healing abilities do not restore shields. When the player takes damage, shields (if present) will always be prioritized before health in this order:
- Overshield
- Innate shield
- Health
Certain abilities can deal damage through shields. The list of abilities includes:
Innate shield
Shield that is part of a Phighter's general statistics. Innate shields are permanent and begin to regenerate to their maximum capacity at a rate of 10 shield per second after the player does not take damage for 8 seconds. Ban Hammer is the sole exception, as his passive Oathbound prevents natural shield regeneration.
The list of Phighters that use innate shields are:
- Biograft - 100 shield
- Ban Hammer - 150 shield
- Boombox - 50 shield
- Hyperlaser - 100 shield
- Katana - 150 shield
- Rocket - 100 shield
- Shuriken - 50 shield
- Skateboard - 75 shield
- Slingshot - 50 shield
- Sword - 25 shield
- Vine Staff - 75 shield
Certain abilities can restore innate shields. These abilities include:
- Boombox's Shielding Amplifier
- Medkit's Divine Resurrection (only if the revived Phighter has innate shield within the first 75 hitpoints)
- Katana's Looming Misfortune
Overshield
Shields temporarily granted to the player through abilities. Overshields can be lost if its duration expires, or if it's broken with sufficient damage.
