DODGEBALL! is a map in PHIGHTING!.

Overview

DODGEBALL! is a small gymnasium-themed map containing mats which serve as cover for both teams to utilize. The mats in DODGEBALL! are randomly generated. There are entrances into a narrow locker room on the left and right side of the map which can be utilized for cover or as a flank route. Teams have two spawn areas at the left and right side of the gymnasium entrances. Both the regular and summer variant of DODGEBALL! have a day and night time version, changing the visual backdrop of the map and the theme.

Summer

The summer variant of DODGEBALL! turns the map into a volleyball playing field, adding a volleyball net spanning across the center of the map and a palm tree on each side. The volleyball net serves as a hindrance for ranged Phighters as it can block projectiles from passing through it.

Gameplay features

The obstacle placements in the map are taken from a randomized set of 7 configurations. The configurations are named:

Setting

DODGEBALL! is set in a gymnasium with a high triangular sun roof and several light fixtures hanging from the ceiling. The court markings on the wooden floor are colored either red or blue depending on the side of the map. The map also has two long corridors on opposite sides, featuring lockers along the walls as well as a bench down the middle. Two basketball hoops can be found on opposites sides of the map directly in between each teams' spawn areas.

• DODGEBALL! is one of the most randomized maps in PHIGHTING!, having a total of 7 in-game iterations.

V0.4.5 - 2 January 2023 DODGEBALL! was reworked. Playtest 4 - 28 October 2022 The summer variant of DODGEBALL! was removed, and the regular variant was reintroduced.
