Background

Hyperlaser was raised to be a soldier and nothing else, and he’s currently a mercenary working for Blackrock, he does not want to be affiliated with the faction and has personal reasons for working under Blackrock. He's trying to move past Blackrock and his trauma but something is preventing him from doing so.

Appearance

Hyperlaser wears an armoured helmet with a blacked out visor. Blue stripes run down either side of the helmet, and a pair of blue and black antennae adorn the helmet in place of horns. He wears a grey suit with a blue collar, closed with a button on his right side. His right sleeve has two short horizontal blue stripes on the shoulder, while the left has two dark grey stripes that run vertically down the whole length of his arm. His sleeves end at white cuffs with blue buttons, completed with black gloves. He has black pants that run down to grey boots, marked with more blue accents on the sides and soles.

Personality

On the surface, Hyperlaser presents himself with a stern, no-nonsense disposition. Some of his interactions with other Phighters consist of him scolding or questioning them for playful and careless behaviour on the battlefield, with the intention of getting them to focus on the task at hand. When read closer, however, it becomes apparent that he doesn't do it out of annoyance, but rather from concern that his fellow Phighters will be lost in a similar manner to the people from his past.

When not focused on the battles before him, Hyperlaser becomes rather curious about other people; much of his dialogue is him asking other Phighters about themselves, usually in regards to their weapons and skills. He shows a greater amount of concern for Katana than anyone else, and tries to coax him into slowing down and talking about his problems.

Despite wanting to leave Blackrock in the long run, he still takes his work with them seriously, and appears to even take pleasure and pride in the kills that come with it. He does not regret the death he has caused while working for Blackrock.

Lore

Hyperlaser's 'antennae' aren't actually his horns, but rather a part of his helmet. He was caught in a traumatic incident that resulted in severe burns and the loss of his horns, the burns are yet still sensitive to touch. However, he is not insecure about them.

He is blind. Without his helmet, he cannot see, and he is also physically incapable of crying.

Relationships

Katana

Hyperlaser and Katana are seen to be particularly friendly towards eachother despite their stoic natures, in fact, it has been confirmed that they are friends and drinking buddies.

Biograft and Subspace

Hyperlaser is affiliated with Biograft and Subspace by faction. Although they work together, Hyperlaser dislikes Subspace.

The Broker

Broker is not fond of Hyperlaser due to his work position, but does not hate him.

Medkit

He is mildly curious about what happened between Medkit and Subspace.

Skateboard

Hyperlaser does not approve of Skateboard’s carefree attitute, activley scolding him in their exchanges
