Overview

Subspace is a support Phighter that specializes in area denial, applying vulnerability, poison and allowing him to set up traps with his Tripmine. He can also levitate enemies using Fallen Star, causing disruption and making them easy targets for Tripmine. Comet Carnage can be used for mid-fight damage advantage, granting heavy vulnerability to those struck by it. Mist Rush turns Subspace invisible and grants a haste buff, allowing him to reposition quickly. His Phinisher, Noxious Void is a powerful ability which creates a vacuum that pulls nearby enemies in, capable of winning group fights and granting his team a significant advantage if it is able to hit multiple players.

  • Can build up vulnerability stacks to soften targets for the player's team.
  • Noxious Void can win teamfights with the right coordination and if it is able to catch multiple enemies.
  • Extremely good range and damage for a support.
  • Good passive which rewards team play with self-healing.
Cons
  • Heavily reliant on teammates to capitalize on Vulnerable and Noxious Void.
  • Squishy due to poor mobility and reliance on Soul Stealer for sustain.
  • Vulnerable to self damage.
  • Limited long range options.


Ability usage

  • Soul Stealer
    • Constantly place Tripmines, use Q or M2. Any points of damage can lead to assists and grant the healing.
  • Tripmine
    • Place Tripmines around the map, as you are an area denial highter, but to also provoke Vulnerable and poison to unsuspecting enemies.
    • Vulnerable rounds to the nearest number if the modified value uses a decimal point. If an enemy has 50% or more Vulnerable, Subspace's poison damage goes from 1 per tick to 2 per tick, enabling Subspace to dispatch enemy Phighters easily if a fight is prolonged.
  • Fallen Star
    • Use Fallen Star to predict and hit where an enemy Skateboard might be going to de-board them and deal damage. Also to levitate enemies, allowing for easier shots.
  • Comet Carnage
    • Comet Carnage can be used to deal massive damage in an fight, and to inflict 25% Vulnerable to enemies.
  • Mist Rush
    • Use Mist Walk to engage in fights, come back to the front from spawn, chase down a low health enemy or to sneak up to use Subspace's phinisher, Noxious Void.
  • Noxious Void
    • Use Noxious Void either at the start of a fight or in the middle. Before using Noxious Void, consider targeting Phighters that can nullify its effects (Medkit, Boombox). These Phighters have abilities that can save teammates from the phinisher. The player can stay near Noxious Void to keep enemies from closing into their position.

Counterplay against Subspace

Subspace is a really good Phighter when he's using his abilities well and timing his shots. He can be easily countered by being rushed down by basically any Phighter with consistent damage. The player can retreat to remove the Vulnerable debuff if multiple stacks are applied on them. It is also suggested to start an engagement with an enemy Subspace if either Comet Carnage or has been used as these are Subspace's defensive abilities. It should also be noted that in Noxious Void, Phinishers can still be casted and used, so a Medkit or Boombox can use them to protect their team. Medkit in particular can use Divine Resurrection to revive dead players after Noxious Void, nullifying any advantage obtained by the Phinisher.
